The Financial Services Roundtable created the Retirement Security Coalition (RSC) in 2009 in the wake of the financial downturn. The RSC–chaired by Ron O’Hanley, President, Asset Management and Corporate Services at Fidelity Investments–is dedicated to increasing the totality of the nation’s retirement security by empowering individuals to take responsibility for their own retirement security.

One of the most important aspects of the program is our Advisory Board. This group—comprised of the nation’s leading non-profits that concern themselves with personal finance, financial literacy and retirement security—helps Retirement Security Coalition member companies focus public attention on the need to change the way Americans plan for retirement.

In 2010 the RSC created the “Save. Protect. Grow.” communications campaign to highlight tools, strategies, and resources that can help individuals reach their retirement goals. The campaign showcases the importance of saving (ranging from an initial emergency fund to longer-term retirement goals), protecting (via insurance), and growing (through investment) assets with three high-profile events each year.

Advisory Board Members

The Retirement Security Coalition has benefited tremendously from the counsel of our Advisory Board members. The Advisory Board, chaired by former Treasurer of the United States Anna Cabral, meets quarterly to guide the Coalition in its priorities and strategies.
